About Dean

Dean Snellback is a lifelong musician, singer/songwriter, and entertainer with roots stretching from Yorktown Heights, New York and the Chicago area to his home in Connecticut. His musical journey spans decades, shaped by the rich blues traditions of the Delta, Memphis, and Chicago — and a deep belief that music belongs to everyone.

He studied at Harper College in Palatine, IL and Western Connecticut State University, and has been a proud 30-year Newtown, CT resident. His music spans original compositions alongside contemporary, popular, rock, blues, and country — performed with warmth, humor, and unmistakable heart.

Through his umbrella organization Dean Snellback Music, Dean leads three distinct projects — each rooted in the conviction that music connects, heals, and lifts the human spirit.

Live Performance & Band

As founder and leader of The BluesyLand Band, Dean and his "Bandoliers" cover everything from Delta, Memphis, and Chicago blues to jazzy, swing, and country blues — performing across Connecticut and neighboring New York at concerts, festivals, wineries, breweries, and private events.

Two configurations available: a full Rockin' Bluesy Band for high-energy venues, or a laid-back bluesy/jazzy/R&B ensemble for intimate settings.

Senior Living Communities

Dean's passion for sharing music with senior living communities began when his mother moved into one. He now performs for dozens of independent living, assisted living, memory care, and healthcare facilities across Connecticut — bringing humor, energy, and genuine joy to residents who need it most.

Performances available solo or with the full band.

Healing & Inspiration

Born during the COVID-19 shutdown through unique "safe distance concerts" with inspiring songwriters, Twilight Time brings transformative music to individuals navigating loss, health challenges, loneliness, or life transitions.

Dean performs at retreats, group events, workshops, and faith ceremonies — and volunteers for home performances for those with limited mobility.
